About Me, who I am and what I do!
Hey, I’m Evangeline Moon.
I’m a fitness professional and run my business both online and in my private studio gym with my partner Harley.
I have always had an active life but only started weight training when I was 14. One of my older brothers convinced my to get my first gym membership and showed me the ropes.
My training was originally based on traditional bodybuilding (designed for men) after 2 years of training, I realised that this style of training wasn’t for me. So I started watching what and how other women trained in the gym, the ladies that I wanted to look like.
I spent the following 3 years training by myself before I decided to hire my first PT. While being coached by this PT I gained a great deal of strength and competed in my first Powerlifting competition setting 3 state records.
It was in this stage of training that I was injured, the injury was caused by not being coached to my body structure, hormones or cycle and zero consideration was taken into account for the fact that I am a female.
This lack of attention and consideration led to me pulling my left glute, popping my left hip and hyper extending my left hip flexor which left me not being able to walk let alone train.
Afterwards, this PT didn’t see any real issue with the injury and wanted me to continue to train predominantly focusing on heavy lower body movements. I decided I had to part ways with this coach as there was no reason to stay with a coach that had no real interest in training to my recovery and did not have my actual health and wellbeing in mind, it was no longer "Personal Training". By this time I was 20 years old working admin in a commercial gym and not being able to train anywhere near to what I was or wanted to. I unfortunately didn’t have the experience to rehabilitate myself and came to the conclusion that I needed help and guidance, so I had hired a coach who specialised in rehabilitation and training women to their cycles.
Through this specific training and guidance I gained strength back in my left side and managed to work my way back to being able to lift what I was a year prior.
Going through this has made me reach for the books and enrol in courses to learn more on how to train to the female hormones to get the best results out of the gym. My mother has always been big on what happens in the female body throughout each month and having a holiday approach to food and overall health. But going through this experience has really taught me how the female body moves so different to a males, especially in the gym. Now 22 running my fitness business with my partner, in our own Women's only gym and online. We focus on helping women train to their cycle to get the best out of their training and overall efforts to their health. Personally I have found training and eating to my hormones has made a huge difference in my quality of life.
